I have been debating whether to continue posting on Substack. Although I might not load my posts up with pictures of animals, cartoons, and memes, I do work hard to write to the best of my ability and include a few pictures and links when I believe they’re appropriate. I am an opinion writer. I have never claimed to be an author, journalist, pundit, or anything but a guy with an opinion about everything. I have been surprised at the large number of subscriptions I’ve been blessed with. What also surprises me is the limited engagement from those who subscribe.
I suppose this is typical in history. Rarely did people write “letters to the editor” back when everything was print media. I wrote dozens of “letters to the editor” over my lifetime which required either hand writing or typing a letter/comment, finding an envelope and a stamp, submitting the letter/comment, and then hoping that the editor would print it. Now, it is super easy for readers to engage. All they must do is click or tap to like and they can instantly comment on a post as well without having to go through the excruciating process we used to have to go through.
Do not get me wrong, I do *not* need to be “liked” to happily live my life. I could care less actually. If people like me or what I have to say, then great! If not… oh well. But in a community that is supposedly frothing with a desire for liberty, bodily autonomy, financial freedom, and the desire to be left alone, one would think there would be more engagement. Do people really want to be free? Do those here on Substack who have been screaming “FREEDOM!” really care about freedom, or do they just pay lip service to the concept while hoping that a politician or an author is going to be the one to save the world and do all the hard work for them?
In other posts I’ve mentioned that there’s lots of engagement when I talk about “vaccines” and that whole nightmare (and that is an extremely important issue), but if I talk about what we can do to give the middle finger to “the man” and reclaim our lives while we see what direction this insane world is heading… crickets.
That leads me to believe that most of the public, including the liberty community, have been captured and are unwilling to move on with their lives, and unwilling to try doing something to declare their independence in a world gone mad. Is it even worth the trouble for me to rack my brain week after week trying to think of things that I can share with people that can improve their lives and get them ready for what may or may not come? I will answer my own question: Yes, it is worth it. I do this work for me just as much as the general public. When I write, my brain seems to work better. I can put ideas and concepts that are rattling around in my brain into perspective and, many times, while sharing my heart with people via the virtual pen I end up understanding those ideas even better myself.
That does lead me to another question though. Are you, my dear reader, just skimming through the posts on Substack and moving on? Are you even trying to really think about the things that myself and many others here are saying? Further yet, are you taking those ideas that are good to you, making them your own, and doing something? Or are you waiting for a politician, a company, or a “great leader” to do them for you?
My sister and I love to cook. I have been cooking since I was old enough to stand on a stool in front of the stove. A few years ago, my sister became very gung-ho about making new, exciting, and more healthy dishes for herself and her family. Being a typical big brother, I had to give my two-cents (for whatever that was worth). I told her, “Follow the recipe the first time, but the next time, make it your own!
This is what we should be doing with everything in life. We should be finding our own truth and solutions, making them our own and being willing to lose everything once we have embraced said truth as our own. The recipe is now ours. This is what we should be doing with these posts (not just mine, but the numerous others here who are giving heartfelt advice and suggestions). When we come across something in a post that rings true to us, is doable by us, and makes sense to us; we should try it! Maybe do it “their way” the first time, but then, make it our own. I scream repeatedly that liberty starts in the heart of the one that wants it. But liberty only becomes real when we learn how to practice it in our own lives. When we do, much of the world and its problems literally fade away. It takes work, but it’s not impossible.
We cannot keep waiting for a politician to make freedom and liberty “legal.” We cannot expect a dirty “supreme” court judge to say, “it’s okay… you can do that now.” We must be living our liberty every single day and practicing what we believe in our own lives with a fervor that rivals those who are desperately trying to take away our liberty. We must commit to do whatever it takes to hold on to our own God/Creator given rights at all cost. Do you think those who are shoving the insane agenda of the “New World Order” down our throats (especially over the last 2 plus years) are going to give up and let go of their insane ideas to destroy us and enslave us in a beast system that will never be overcome in generations of humans? NO. They are committed to their truth.
If we don’t start taking things a bit more seriously and start committing to the same degree as the enemies of liberty do… we will lose everything good in this world.
So, start today. Read the posts you subscribe to with new eyes. Try and get the heart of the author while reading and when they recommend something that has brought them personal liberty, independence and boosted their confidence, attempt to personalize it for yourself. What does it mean to you? Is it something you can try just to see if it works for you too?
My goal is not for people to agree with me 100%. I never want people to think exactly the way I do or even do things exactly the way I do. My goal is for people to find their liberty and stop letting “the man” drag them down by making them feel hopeless and marooned on their own personal island prison that otherwise should be an island without bars; an island of respite, freedom, and peace.
So, no. I will not stop posting on Substack… not yet anyway. We all have too much work to do. And that work needs to start with each of us deciding to do at least one thing every day that speaks to that person inside of us who is yearning for liberty in their lifetime, just one thing that declares our independence from a beast system that wants us to be in chains until the day we die. If we do this, we will be surprised at just how free we feel even while the enemies of liberty try to put us in a cell and slam the door forever.

I would like to thank everyone who had input vis a vis this post. I was feeling a bit frustrated. Not necessarily by those here who have supported my shoddy work since day one, but by those who don't seem to have a fire or a zeal to overcome the darkness that seems to be seeping into every corner of civilization. I hope no one was offended by what I was saying, as that was definitely not my goal. Anyway, thank you so much for reinvigorating me to continue to do my best to opine on whatever subject strikes me week to week. I'm so glad to know that you are all here. :)
I hear you man. It can get frustrating, and I resonate with your concerns. When Simulation Commander and I did our podcast, I remember him commenting on why he called his Stack "Screaming Into the Void", and it's because he really didn't expect people to respond or care.
When the heat isn't "on", and real life events aren't hitting home directly between the eyes (or the mouth, in the case of forced masking or the bloodstream in the case of the jab), the ferocity with which most "normal" people engage is dimmed. And that can be disheartening.
The reality is, most people who just want to live and let live, like you and me (and probably a large percentage of our readers), just aren't radical. We're not religious zealots for our freedom. On the flipside, "they" are. The Woke, the Hydra, the corporate industrial complex, are VERY much the radical true believers, and that's always been the problem for those who just want to live free. We want to BBQ in our back yards and have a good Halloween party. They want total domination over your lives. Their will and commitment to that is much greater and more consistent than ours is to liberty in the long run.
So I want to encourage you to keep it up, despite the doubts and frustrations. Every single little bit of truth in this void matters.
