If We Choose Sides, the Monsters Win... Again
It's time to stop being herd members and start thinking for ourselves
Over my lifetime I’ve seen something happen that has been devastating to our society. We have been slowly trained to be divisive about *everything*! We are no longer “allowed” to have our own principles, beliefs, or views. Everything we believe has to tow some kind of weird line with one herd or the other. For the most part there are only 2 herds, and there are a few like me who choose not to be a herd member.
There are multitudes of subjects that we have been coerced into joining a herd over, here’s just some of them:
Sports. They used to be fun in America. Now, literal fights, riots and many other incredible acts of violence break out if someone’s “herd” didn’t “win”.
Politics. The “R” vs “D” trap was laid many years ago and people are *still* falling for it! People are always thinking that if they get the “good guy/gal” in office to do for them what they won’t do for themselves that utopia will blanket the country. As many times as one of the R’s or D’s fail us, we still think that if we just vote a bit harder next time and *really* choose the right “lesser of two evils” things will magically get better.
War. If America’s for it, it just has to be a righteous and good war. No matter where it’s waged. No matter how many people are killed. And if we the people aren’t for it, we’re not patriotic. Those who valiantly wave a flag for whatever “side” they want to “win” often never served in the military and are oblivious to the young lives that are destroyed. The media covers up the real story behind war and the government propagandizes to such an extent that any view other than the “approved” view is dismissed as kooky, fringe, or unpatriotic.
Religion. America was founded as a place where people could freely practice religion. We are now quickly becoming a nation where only “approved” religions can be practiced. That religion could be anything from “science” to Islam. But no Christians are allowed anymore.
Food. If you choose organic you are “weird”. If you are pro GMO and chemicals you are on one side and if you think that food should be grown the way that nature intended you are on another.
Medicine. If you believe your body is fearfully and wonderfully made and that if you treat it well you can have a long healthy life (in most cases), you are “anti” science and kooky. Often called names, doxed, lambasted, and downright hated.
Vehicles. Depending on what area of the country you are in, fights can break out as to whether you should own a Ford or a Chevy. (Absolute truth. I’ve seen it firsthand)
LGBTQ. If you don’t care what an adult does with their own body and in their bedroom, but don’t want to teach your child how to have a same sex relationship or get their genitals chopped off at the age of 5 and don’t choose to participate in some kind of same sex relationship yourself or completely accept it without question you are a hater. You want children to suffer in silence as they contemplate their sexuality. You must be some kind of heartless monster. Your often shamed into believing something is wrong with you if you prefer the opposite sex.
Climate. If you believe that the climate is controlled by the sun, moon and oceans and that human activity *can* affect the climate but we don’t have the power to literally change the climate by anything we are doing, you immediately hate mother earth. You want everyone to die and don’t care about fish or birds.
Race. If you believe that all races matter, you are instantly a racist. If you believe that every race on the planet should be allowed to exist, befriend who they want, marry who they want, live where they want (whether with their own race or not) you are an evil Nazi. We are supposed to feel guilty for being whatever race we are (and I do believe there is such thing as White, Black, Asian, etc “guilt” that is pushed on whatever race du jour is popular at the time, for political and social reasons).
Believe it or not, I could continue listing examples of issues that used to be problems we solved by coming together and discussing, educating and debating about them but are now issues that send the herds on each side into a frenzy. Frothing at the mouth and screaming at each other. And *never* solving anything.
This hasn’t been done by accident. We have been conditioned now for a whole generation to be so religious about whatever side we are on that we can’t even talk to someone on the other side. And yes, even in the liberty community we see this. It’s really sad. I recently saw comments on a post where the author quoted what someone said who is/was allegedly a “member” of the WEF young global leaders program. What this “leader” said was good! It made sense! But several people would have none of it. Because of this person’s supposed involvement with the WEF, her statement was dismissed entirely. She was prosecuted, tried and judged immediately.
We can’t keep doing this. When we join a herd and buy in to that herd’s thinking 100% we often end up hating the other side so thoroughly we won’t even listen to what they have to say… even when they are right about something!
You know, there’s a huge difference between hating, disliking or not tolerating what someone thinks or believes and hating them as a person. I know… it’s hard to be nice. It takes a lot of self-control sometimes to bite our tongue and let someone have their say (especially if they are voicing an opinion we disagree with) but it is possible.
It’s no wonder that there are monsters like Klaus Schwab and Bill Gates who want to wipe out populations and “change us” by injecting us with gene therapy. When we can’t manage having civil debate about subjects, can’t control ourselves, can’t be courteous or kind, can’t humble ourselves once in a while, or just can’t break out of our own “thinking box” for one moment to discuss an issue and learn from one another it just gives ammo to people like the aforementioned monsters. It makes it easier to justify their actions in their minds. It makes it easier for politicians to think, “they can’t self-govern, they need us to fix them”.
You know, the best thing I ever did in my life was befriend people younger than I. It started kind of by accident. I don’t “hang out” with these younger people, but if I want to chat they are good with it. I don’t always agree with their views, but I *listen* to and actually learn from them. And, of course, I interject when I feel it’s necessary because we all don’t know everything. Young people usually lack wisdom (I know some older people who are lacking too!). I guess my point is, that if we want to stop the madness going on in the world, we *have to* remove ourselves from our herd. It doesn’t mean that we can’t care about issues or be in groups of “like mind”. It means that we have to be more independent minded. We have to have our *own* principles, beliefs, and views and that might not always line up with either herd, and that’s a good thing!
Go ahead and hang out with your herd. But afterward, do some thinking. Don’t just go along with a herd to be “liked” by them. How many of your herd members are going to help you move? Will they give you money when your down on your luck? Will they come and visit you in the hospital? Will they do *anything* to help you if you need it? Most likely, the answer is no. Be good friends with one or two people who line up with you almost 100% and then go out and explore some of the viewpoints of the other herd. Be willing to listen, learn, disagree, agree, sometimes change your mind and explore what the other herd has to say. It doesn’t mean that you give up your principles. It actually helps us *create our own* principles based on our own experiences, our own philosophy and world view.
The only way out of the problems facing the world right now is for us to stop being herd members on one side or another and become *individuals* who come together to solve those problems. We can do this!
That is a tall order for the average American. Social Media (Facebook, Twitter) has brainwashed most people into supporting the "sides/us/them" mentality. If you want to be liked you have to pick a "side," that side is usually the side that the media is championing. Very few Americans will ever think for themselves. They don't have to, public schools colleges, pastors/preachers, corporations, the media, all tell the average American what to think. Go along to get along. You need a higher IQ and surprisingly logic AND creativity to be a free thinker. Most Americans are not gifted with those qualities.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
