I’ve had the same experience with the weather. Around May 2022, the Powers That Be decided that people checking the weather would also be interested in knowing monkeypox statistics. That did it for me. I haven’t checked the weather since, and I’m happier for it. I feel like a little kid -- what's today gonna be like?

You’re absolutely right about overcoming the latest Scary and Depressing Thing through hard work and preparation. There’s always something more that can be done, and it helps to give ourselves a task to complete rather than just sitting around wringing our hands.

This Spring, 2022, Congress voted to end the time changes. Starting after next year's Spring forward the time will not change again. We will perpetually on Daylight Savings Time. I'd prefer Standard time being our "Standard" time, but what'cha gonna do with a bunch of loser lawyers? `\_(•_•)_/`

My wife and I discussed ignoring the time change this fall. We are retired and mostly home bodies so it didn't seem like it would be all that disruptive if we did. We did end up changing the clocks though as we are not always sure what day it is when we wake up, we thought at least we should be on the same time as everyone else. : ) I prefer daylight saving time for more evening light but either way let's not change twice a year. I'll adjust what I need to.

Speaking of weather, we were woken to the screech of our emergency weather radio at about 3:30am last night. Apparently, we had to be told that there is a tropical storm/cat 1 hurricane approaching the east coast of Fl... like everyone in Florida didn't already know. Believe me, after spending the better part of a day and night, including 3 hours of riding the eye wall, in hurricane Ian, we are well aware of approaching storms. Useless announcements make people less attentive when real emergency notices are issued.

I just get up an hour earlier/later relative to the clock.

I'm on my own time. Fuck 'em.

I'm afraid... you're right! ^_^

And I agree, let's just take back our lives and our Earth and our weather and all of it.

I want to just refuse to come out of Daylight Saving next spring... And nearly every day I pray for an end to the spraying of our skies. I want to see Regenerative Agriculture become widespread, and healthy, good food for everyone, ALL of it, not a choice between organic and pesticide-laden, tweaked and weird stuff that's cheaper. I'm ready. Let's just do it. They can't really stop us.

Unfortunately Rob, I can't do much about your scary elections. But look on the bright side mate, at least you get a vote in who your WEF puppet is (even if it is rigged). We just get told who ours is ;-).

Perfect comments to ponder on the eve of midterms! Tomorrow, I'll go down to my local FD and fill in some SAT circles next to some names, but the real meaningful actions I'll be taking are the one I take every day: lifting weights, cooking my own food, reading books.
