I’ve had the same experience with the weather. Around May 2022, the Powers That Be decided that people checking the weather would also be interested in knowing monkeypox statistics. That did it for me. I haven’t checked the weather since, and I’m happier for it. I feel like a little kid -- what's today gonna be like?

You’re absolutely right about overcoming the latest Scary and Depressing Thing through hard work and preparation. There’s always something more that can be done, and it helps to give ourselves a task to complete rather than just sitting around wringing our hands.

Thanks Fat Rabbit Iron. I'm a weather addict and have a neat weather station etc. It's not because I'm afraid of the weather, but because it's interesting to me. That being said, I've had to focus more on my own weather station and looking out the window (like we all used to do) rather than let someone who is being paid to push a narrative tell me that the weather is going to be "scary" today. I've noticed those disgusting "virus" stats in some of these forecasters as well. I'm glad you have the discernment you do. Most people just let that information go into their brain and don't even realize that it's conditioning them. My rule anymore is if I see something that just doesn't feel right, turn it off or get rid of it. :)

I was thinking about getting a thermometer and barometer of my own so I don't have to rely on other people. Great minds think alike!

This Spring, 2022, Congress voted to end the time changes. Starting after next year's Spring forward the time will not change again. We will perpetually on Daylight Savings Time. I'd prefer Standard time being our "Standard" time, but what'cha gonna do with a bunch of loser lawyers? `\_(•_•)_/`

Interesting. I had someone else tell me that as well. If it really happens (I just read a few articles and Joe-bama still has to sign the bill), I'm all for it. And the politicians are so proud of themselves as they control time itself... again. :)

I didn't know Obiden hadn't signed it. I'm sure he doesn't care about the time change, since he's asleep 24/7 it doesn't effect him.

My wife and I discussed ignoring the time change this fall. We are retired and mostly home bodies so it didn't seem like it would be all that disruptive if we did. We did end up changing the clocks though as we are not always sure what day it is when we wake up, we thought at least we should be on the same time as everyone else. : ) I prefer daylight saving time for more evening light but either way let's not change twice a year. I'll adjust what I need to.

Speaking of weather, we were woken to the screech of our emergency weather radio at about 3:30am last night. Apparently, we had to be told that there is a tropical storm/cat 1 hurricane approaching the east coast of Fl... like everyone in Florida didn't already know. Believe me, after spending the better part of a day and night, including 3 hours of riding the eye wall, in hurricane Ian, we are well aware of approaching storms. Useless announcements make people less attentive when real emergency notices are issued.

Thanks for stopping by Brian. Yeah, I could go on a long rant here about all of these "alerts". If a person has a cell phone and has all of the alerts turned on for everything, it's constant fear pretty much all day, every day. Amber alert, weather alert, abduction alert, storm alert, virus alert... it's non-stop. Luckily, even when I did carry a tracking device, I knew how to turn off everything and somehow, I lived just fine not knowing ever single thing going on in the world as soon as it happened.

I guess our "president" will probably sign the bill getting rid of the time change soon. I think I read it has to pass the house first? Personally, I haven't been keeping up with it and didn't even know about it until someone pointed it out to me. In my comment on his comment I said something to the effect of, "and the politicians are proud of themselves because they are controlling time itself... again. :) Glad you weathered Ian ok. I lived in FL for 7 years of my life and remember all of that madness. Grandmother lived through Charlie (barely). As always, thanks for your contribution here.

I just get up an hour earlier/later relative to the clock.

I'm on my own time. Fuck 'em.

I'm afraid... you're right! ^_^

And I agree, let's just take back our lives and our Earth and our weather and all of it.

I want to just refuse to come out of Daylight Saving next spring... And nearly every day I pray for an end to the spraying of our skies. I want to see Regenerative Agriculture become widespread, and healthy, good food for everyone, ALL of it, not a choice between organic and pesticide-laden, tweaked and weird stuff that's cheaper. I'm ready. Let's just do it. They can't really stop us.

Unfortunately Rob, I can't do much about your scary elections. But look on the bright side mate, at least you get a vote in who your WEF puppet is (even if it is rigged). We just get told who ours is ;-).

Perfect comments to ponder on the eve of midterms! Tomorrow, I'll go down to my local FD and fill in some SAT circles next to some names, but the real meaningful actions I'll be taking are the one I take every day: lifting weights, cooking my own food, reading books.

Thanks Pancake Princess! That's what I want to see in everyone that believes in liberty and independence! It's what I scream from the mountaintop anytime I can. It makes me all warm and fuzzy knowing there are others out there who "get it." Thanks again for taking the time to check out my rants. :)

It's uncanny how that can happen from time to time. I've noticed a few times several authors I subscribe to mentioning the same thing all around the same time. Spiritual discernment? We may never know. I'm always glad to see when lots of people are thinking the same thing though. It reaffirms that we really are the sane ones IMHO.
