Recently, a brief interaction with someone reminded me that most people do not have a clue what is being done to the food supply in the name of “sustainability” and “equity” (terms used by organizations like the UN, WHO, and the WEF). Much of the adulteration of our food started in the 1970s and, as a result, we now live in a nation where most of the public is overweight and sick. We often hear about “vaccines” being the main cause of the illness and shortened life expectancy in our nation. I am someone who believes it is “all of the above.” In other words, I do not believe we should rule out “vaccines”, forever chemicals, EMF radiation, and (more than anything), the changes we’ve seen in our food over the last 50 years or so.
The media has lied and/or (at a minimum) suppressed the truth about this disastrous “GMO” technology. I do not want to go down the media rabbit hole, but it is worth mentioning that for a time in America, news was not sponsored by corporations. Television programming was, but the actual news was not, thus, there was a bit more truth in the news. Once these media giants started getting their news “sponsored” by advertising from giant corporations (pharmaceuticals, “food” groups, etc.) it was not long until most of them stopped reporting anything (or very little) negative about the “hand that is feeding them.”
So, here’s my layman’s attempt to shed a bit of light on GMO. I plan to hit on a few key points, possibly point out a few products that are especially concerning (and why), and provide a few resources for those who are interested in becoming more educated about this subject. I have been studying this subject for many years now and have read several books and listened to hundreds of hours of lectures about genetic engineering and how it affects the food we eat. Not to mention, I vaguely remember my parents having conversations about Monsanto and the “miracle” product (Roundup) on the farm when I was around 10 years old.
Let’s start with a definition of GMO because this is what most people don’t understand. From the genome.gov website:
GMO (short for “genetically modified organism”) is a plant, animal or microbe in which one or more changes have been made to the genome, typically using high-tech genetic engineering, in an attempt to alter the characteristics of an organism. Genes can be introduced, enhanced or deleted within a species, across species or even across kingdoms. GMOs may be used for a variety of purposes, such as making human insulin, producing fermented beverages and developing pesticide resistance in crop plants.
Next, it is important to know what a Hybrid is. Many in the general public have been led to believe that GMO is just the same as a hybrid. Nothing could be further from the truth:
Hybrid: …these plants are created by plant breeders to enhance certain traits, such as improved hardiness, larger flowers, tastier fruit, or better disease-resistance. To create an F1 hybrid, breeders start by repeatedly inbreeding plants into two genetically stable strains. Then they cross-pollinate the two strains. The offspring are referred to as F1 hybrids.
In other words, GMOs are not hybrids. This is where many people get confused and the media never tells us the truth about this difference (or, they blur the definition). GMO plants often have genes from other species inserted into their genome in a lab. In other words, it could be a monkey gene inserted into a corn gene, a squid gene being inserted into a potato gene, etc. Hybrids are created using things like cross-pollination etc. Sure, hybrids can be manipulated a bit, but it is a natural process that is not trying to literally force two different species together.
In the interest of time, I’m going to move on to one of the most “altered” crops in the world: Corn
Almost all corn (a staggering and scary 94 percent!) in America is now GMO. This Frankencorn has had it’s genome altered in two ways: 1st: inserting genes from Agrobacterium sp. strain CP4 which allows industrial farms to literally saturate their fields with Roundup (glyphosate). A 2019 (and there’s more recent ones as well) study found that every living being in America now has glyphosate in their bodies, no matter how clean they try to eat. 2nd: corn is combined with Bacillus thuringiensis bacterium. This expression allows corn to remain pest free without having to spray with insecticides. Sounds like a good thing right?
The way that Bacillus Thuringiensis bacterium kill insects (in layman’s terms) is: when the insect eats this corn, it rips up their gut and kills them.
***Side note: Most GMO “seed” is now sterile. In other words, you cannot plant it and get it to produce a crop, or it grows “weird” and produces strange results. *All* GMO seed is patented by companies like Monsanto (Bayer) and farmers are forced to keep buying these seeds because they cannot save seeds like they used to.
*** Another side note: Just like with “vaccines”, NO long term studies have ever been done on GMO! They are “approved” by the FDA in much the same way as the new “vaccines.”
Corn is in almost everything the average person eats or drinks. There are derivatives of corn in everything from Ketchup to (the more obvious, of course) Cornflakes. Almost everything with sugar in it (and almost everything on the store shelves has sugar in it) is made with, you guessed it, “High Fructose Corn Syrup” made from that same GMO corn.
In recent years we have learned that American’s gut health is almost non-existent. Many now need to supplement with “probiotics”. Colon cancer is now a problem for people in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. Could it be that the same corn that destroys insect guts is now destroying our guts? It is a question worth asking!
To be fair, our diet alone could be the cause of this. Americans used to eat fermented foods, drank raw milk (raw milk can replenish our gut biome), and ate raw cheeses and other foods that possibly kept our guts in check. Shouldn’t we, at a minimum, be questioning whether GMO foods that are literally designed to kill could be harming us? Please keep in mind that most of these GMO crops are also used for animal feed so, no matter what we do, we are all getting some of this Frankenfood no matter how hard we try to “eat clean.”
Please see this list of other crops (and fish) that are “engineered” in a lab:
https://www.ams.usda.gov/rules-regulations/be/bioengineered-foods-list
I am happy to report that the GMO Salmon has not been doing well. I have not researched it yet, but I heard the company that was pushing this Frankenfish is going out of business. Why in the hell are we bio-engineering Salmon??
Is there a reason that in the 2000’s “Big Food” lobbied like crazy to fight GMO labeling? Of course there is! I was writing letters to these monsters telling them, “if they have nothing to hide, and if their product is so good, they should be proud to label with what they are putting in the slop they are selling as “food.””
Just a few “food” items I’ve found recently where the company did have the guts (no pun intended) to at least be honest about using GMO ingredients in their products are: Campbell’s soup, Ragu pasta sauce, and a few others I have noticed as well.
This post is getting too long, so I am going to wrap it up here. Should we be playing God with plants and animals? Should we be mixing animals, bugs, plants, and fish together? What are the long-term consequences of this? Why should we even be doing this? (I always hear there is no way to “feed the world” without this… I adamantly disagree, and have many ideas how we can produce plenty of food without doing any of this. There are producers out there right now proving they can be successful without using these monstrous practices).
I have so much more to say on this subject, but I will leave it here. There are many books out there about GMO, but the most comprehensive I have found is one written by an attorney. It is long and not necessarily a “fun” read, but it is incredibly well researched, and one of the best I’ve ever read on this subject. If you are like me, you will be sick to your stomach when you find out the truth behind Genetically Engineered foods. It’s called “Altered Genes, Twisted Truth” by Steven M Druker.
Please, if you are buying “convenience” items and manufactured foods… read the labels. Reject this poisonous Frankenfood wherever and whenever you can. Grow your own food when possible. If you use sugar, always buy cane sugar. Stay far away from any products containing seeds oils, high fructose corn syrup or anything you can’t recognize on the label. A good rule of thumb is: If you can’t pronounce it, you probably shouldn’t eat it.
GMO is a pseudoscience vaporware tech just like mRNA and gene editing. The crops are dangerous because of the pesticides like roundup. Perhaps the GMO is to shield roundup etc.
If the seeds are sterile, how exactly are they finding other crops getting cross contamination? (This happened a lot in India and I'm surprised lawyers didn't make the simple point that the GMO is sterile, thus all seeds have been paid for and there's no "stealing" as they claim to take over farms)
GMO is a way to patent agriculture.
When the supreme court gave companies the right to patent "modified" life, this gave them the incentive to douse seeds etc with toxic chemicals in order to "change the DNA" that it shows up on an equally bullshit DNA test.

Thank you for the refresher course on this subject. It is truly frightening how bad this world has become. I have learned that some sugar cane in Brazil is now genetically modified, so we have to be careful when we purchase sugar to make sure that it says non-gmo on it. What do you know about seedless watermelons and seedless grapes? Are they genetically modified? Should we avoid them? Thank you.
