The laws that criminalize things that people do that create no harm to others are laws designed to shape behavior and keep people blind.

It's so crazy that there are laws that tell you what you can and cannot do to yourself.

I thought law was about more than one party involved...

The legal system runs on a stupid language called legalese...

"I believe humanity's foray into fiction began with the breakdown of the bicameral mind, and the insertion of meaningless symbols in between the subject and the seer. In short, back when people used pictographic alphabets, we were limited to discussing things we could actually see in the real world. The invention of phonemic alphabets like this one, which are comprised not of representative pictures but of meaningless letters, provides the opportunity to invent an endless stream of non-sense, the greatest of these being spelled with just a single capital letter."

"Is it legal to be free? I don’t know. And I’m not asking."

Loving the attitude, Rob.

Haha. Thanks Brian. You have read my material for a long time now. You must know by now that I believe true liberty/freedom is a mindset and a way of life. In my opinion we have to *believe* we have the *right* to be free individuals and we have to practice living free every day. No matter what anyone else may think or say about us. Or even what the "law" says... especially if that "law" is unethical. And Lord knows there are thousands of completely unethical, unjust "laws" on the books. I'm hoping that for the rest of my life I can always keep the mindset that if what someone else is doing is not hurting me or innocent children... it's none of my business. I just don't care.

Right on. And fuck legal, it's our NATURAL RIGHT to be free. Nobody "grants" us a damn thing. We can Just Say No. Or Yes.

Fuck being "governed." Fuck all that control nonsense. I donut CARE if I have "permission."

I yam a Free Dog.

Woof! I support you, woof!

All good points.

One might think that telling people will assist them to have independence, but we have seen with the Covid how comforted most are with virtuously following the rules.

And not all one's friends see things the same as we do, but they are such agreeable types that we don't know that they actually disagree with us.

Is it legal to be free?"

NO it is NOT “legal!”

Freedom simply IS! Inside every one of us. As soon as we buy into the fallacy that OUR freedom is controlled by someone, or something else, it ceases to exist. For us.

I don't know if the recent apparent wholesale surrender of our freedoms to the would-be totalitarians is the root cause, or merely a symptom of the collapse of the richest, freest society the world has ever known.

But I know that if we, all of us, 'just say NO' the kleptocratic cretins will slither back into their cesspits – and leave us bloody well alone. To be free!

Woo hoo! Well said AndyinBC! *Exactly*. Don't murder, don't rape, don't steal people's stuff, and don't infringe on someone else's liberty. That's all I ask. That's the only "law" we really need. We used to follow just 10 commandments in America. It seems we have been lured into following thousands upon thousands of them. I sure don't see things getting better because of all of these extra rules, laws, edicts, and mandates. Thanks for propping up my post with your excellent comment.

good questions and reasonable expectations.

As long as it is our own we should be able to do these things easily.

The people we elect to represent go to DC or work from home, and make laws all day

and when they are not making laws they are paling around with people to make some deals and spend our money, and then invent ways to take our money "legally"

It is a pretty rotten scam, I tell ya'. This-a paper, she is a-no good.

As long as we do not put ourselves in a situation that might get us sued and having to pay a boat load of money, so someone? who? for breaking that law.... well so far, we are coasting on a fine edge.

Some special situations like carrying out the instructions fully on my dad's estate, it is better to cover our asses and get a lawyer for the little stuff, but I do not need a hand holder.

Realistically, there are many tasks, such as taxes, and last taxes, that a CPA will not touch unless you get those "little things" sewn up

Right on serafino bueti. If I am going to change a light switch in my home, why in the name of everything that is holy, would I go marching down to the Department of Works (or whatever "agency" is "in charge") to get a flippin' permission slip? But, guess what? Lots of people do. The only reason these monsters have all of this fake power is because we have willingly given it to them. Thanks, as always, for checking in here. :)
