I’m a quote collector! I love them. Quotes are kind of like the “memes” of days past. I still believe quotes can have a profound impact on someone. Typically they are short and witty and convey a message that makes a person think and/or reflect. Here’s a short list of my latest favorites:
“A society hostile to truth can’t possibly remain civilized, because it will also be hostile to reality.” James Kunstler
“The only way to deal with an un-free world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.” Albert Camus
“When wounds are healed by love, the scars are beautiful.” David Bowles
“If the communists could only feed their people as well as they spy on them there wouldn’t be a hungry belly in the whole of the world.” Unknown
“Crime cannot be tolerated. Criminals thrive on the indulgence of society’s understanding.” Batman, from Batman Begins
“The world hates me because I testify that it’s works are evil.” Jesus
“We’ve been praying…together. Praying that God will save our town. Well, our prayers have been answered. God will not save Alexandria… because God has given us the courage to save ourselves!” Father Gabriel from The Walking Dead.
“Moreover, no one knows when their hour will come. As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so people are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them.” Ecclesiastes 9:12
“To resist the will of others, knowledge of one’s self is most important.” Teal’c from Stargate SG-1
“You see what power is – holding someone else’s fear in our hand and showing it to them.” Amy Tan
“Morality is doing what is right regardless of what you are told. Obedience is doing what is told regardless of what is right.”
Wow! I hadn’t read these over in a while. I hope you enjoyed them.
Here’s a few from 2022 that I posted. I don’t believe there are any duplicates, but you never know.
Writer's Block?
I want to thank everyone who has graciously allowed me to ramble here on Substack and have also been so kind as to subscribe to my posts. I’ve mentioned in the past that I am not a writer, scholar, Doctor, or journalist. I’m just a person out here in the ether who felt like I had to do something “more” during the past couple of years. That I couldn’t…
Have an amazing week Rumble Strip Readers!

"Many parents expend significant amounts of money showering their children with all sorts of physical objects by way of demonstrating their love for their children, not realizing that many years later now as adults they will expend significant amounts of money on therapy sessions in order to discover why they were unloved as children."
