Good grief, if I listened to half the garbage that is said about food, I would starve to death because they claim something is bad about just about everything. I still remember when I was a young adult and heard on the news that tomatoes cause cancer. I still eat .

them and here I am, still healthy. Hmm

I belive in self perseverance and fact. I like to judge for myself in my own decisions and experiences. If eating that delicious cookie makes my stomach hurt, well, it was my decision, but its not going to stop me from eating cookies!

Governmental departments are all just a bunch of extra jobs for people who think they are special.

They do their government job, and that bears the results of "good enough"

Governmental departments have been elevated to a level that we are supposed to respect them, but really, remember people, these are government employees.

The FDA cautions us about eating india ink, house paint, stagnant water, and just other obvious things. hahaha

That's why there is the statement, "Close enough for government work."

You bought flour last year, that they're (FDA) just now getting around to "warning" us about. 😑🙄 It must be SUPER important! (Not at all.)

That was just AI gathering data on how people react to ridiculous warnings so it can better plan our demise. Just kidding, I wish.

The vitamin D I take every morning is not FDA approved. But funnily enough, a few months ago I heard rumblings about how the FDA wants to start regulating vitamin D more closely, maybe even requiring a prescription to get it. (This proposal may have died; I can't find any more information about it). They want to regulate things even if they don't officially approve them. Government at its finest!

Hi, FRI. ^_^ They've been trying to "regulate," ie, force prescription requirements, for supplements for years and years... I can't imagine it will ever go through unless we really do allow a tyranny over us as profound as 15-minute cities, etc.

Funnily enough, it's fairly easy to get enough Vitamin D via being outside with shorts and T-shirt for 15-20 minutes for paler folks and a bit longer for deeper skin colors. If we can't get outside with much skin showing, like in cold weather, that's when supplements come in handy! But it's best to use sunshine, it's a better D, naturally. ;)

Oh yes FRI! I know you are younger than I, but I remember at least 20 years ago, arguments about supplements. Europe requires scrips for almost all supplements. "They" would absolutely love to do that here as well. How people can't see how upside down all of this is is beyond me. Eat what you want. Sit on the couch. Abuse your body however you want and take pharmas pills and shots to "treat" what has been caused by that behavior. But anything healthy is verbotten. I don't get it. And the people fall for it. They seem to love it. I've noticed that people just *love* not having to take any responsibility for themselves. Thus... our current situation. IMHO.

Europe,...the test bed of control. Ever notice how those who live off of the joy of controlling everyone else always implore something like, ..." and over in Europe", or "...as we can see from Europe's use of..", or "...we should follow the Europeans and their model implementation of [insert some form of bureaucratic control]...".

Europeans have been leaders of serfdom idealism for centuries. I choose American. I choose freedom, liberty and my God given rights, which include the right to learn by making my own decisions AND mistakes.

Yes John, I've noticed that "comparison" for many years now. They want the whole world in their collective, and America has been the prize up for grabs for a long time. They have come closer to winning that prize this time around than at any other time in history. If they can get away with another "plandemic" I'm quite sure they will win that prize because the people still just don't get it. The slithering monsters want our food, our supplements, our health, our homes, our children, our... everything. Just like "over there". I plan to say no until my dying breath. Pray for the courage of Daniel, Shadrak, Meshak, and Abednigo!

This, "Be afraid. Be VERY afraid!", BS has been going on for a very, very long time. Each of our hundreds, (or thousands?), of regulatory agencies seems to feel compelled to justify their existence. Which, of course, over the decades, has resulted in tens of thousands of warnings. "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!" And we, the great unwashed, have become immune. To the warnings. Which we ignore. And the sky has not yet fallen.

War story: In the prehistoric era, when I was in seventh or eighth grade, a government agency made headlines, (for a few weeks), by declaring that "potatoes cause cancer!" The "proof" offered was a series of experiments with mice. This occurred during that period of history when teachers were still allowed to teach. So our 7th or 8th grade class wrote a letter to the agency. (Remember 'letters'?) We asked for details as to exactly how the experiment was structured. And, that government agency responded! (No this is not fiction. Bureaucrats were once required to respond to citizens. Even middle school classes.)

Turns out the unfortunate rodents were starved, and then fed exclusively "potato extract*, (whatever that is) in daily amounts equivalent to their body weight. We did the math. And figured out that very few of us were capable of eating over 100 pounds of potatoes per day, every day. So we could continue to enjoy potatoes without contracting cancer.

No doubt AndyinBC. We could go down a list of things that are super "dangerous" couldn't we? Eggs and raw milk come to mind to name a couple. Sigh. What's sad are the amount of people who fall for all of this.

Exactly! Regulators gotta regulate. To justify their existence. And people are people. Tell 'em something, anything, over and over and over, for decades, and it becomes the perceived reality. So we have "fear porn". To provide a rationale for the existence of the myriad agencies that establish and enforce the rules we live by.

As Herr Goebbels is famously said to have remarked, "If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, and you will even come to believe it yourself".

Rob, you're much too kind...''the FDA proves they are not relevant.'' They are an organized crime gang, and I'm very happy to see that 0.00 % of the people responding to your poll trust the FDA.

Hey Rob D.

Flour DOES have glyphosate in it, and has for decades... But yeah, I think there's a lot of fear-mongering going on, because fear is a very effective tool. I'm hoping they'll say BACON is really dangerous, so more for us dogs... ;)

But I'd say there's less chance for food to be extra-horrible if it's a reasonably "good" farmer-- local is best! Always! -- because we can still SUE them. And trying to poison a lot of food is a LOT of work... I'd say it's easier to just spray it, like they've been doing to us for decades, and let's not forget the aerosol spraying... Learn how to detox... 2 pints of beer will chelate the aluminum, but I say do this once/week so you can be sure. Cheers!

Yes! They should be recalling it for the Glyphosate if anything. A farmer friend of mine grows organic wheat and I typically mill my own flour from that, but for some things... I gotta have the bad kind of flour. lol.
