Reading this reminded me of a social media post I saw yesterday. It was an image of the eclipse in the sky with hundreds of people floating up to it, captioning, the world was ending. Well, I hate to break it to them, but that's an impossible prediction.

I sat outside sipping coffee, in a chair, watching it slowly get darker, calmer outside and no wind. It was lovely.

Then boom, it was over. Hmmmm, why am I still here and not floating magically towards the sky. It pretty much goes to show how naive and arrogant people can be. Has no one realized yet, that the media for the most part is a bunch of, well, fiction. Some truths, but mostly fiction. So as I sit here today, not floating, I hope all the sane people understand how silly all the hype was. Lol

The corporate media is, without a doubt, a mixture of fiction and facts and facts with a bit of fictional overtones to try and drum up ratings and scare people into changing their behavior in hopes that that behavior can be cashed in on by the same media that caused the changed behavior. I think a lot of people realize it (polls show that the media is trusted less than politicians) but what always amazes me is that the same people who say they don't trust it allow themselves to be hoodwinked by it nonetheless. The best media is what a person witnesses first hand... that's real. What we are told about should always be scrutinized. Thanks for the comment. :)

Everyone smirks at fear mongering--- until it's about something they actually fear. But I do think people are getting more and more aware they're being played. There's also the fact that we've had LOTS of eclipses in our lifetimes, and nothing much has ever happened that was SCARY. But I do think there's plenty going on that is hidden that actually IS scary, and so we should pay attention, but not rise to the stupid stuff.

All that said, I DO think that middle fingers were invented expressly for the Nasties, so we don't have to actually TALK to them...

Good points, WH. I look at it as, if the mainstream media's not talking about it, raise a red flag. Last night I watched a Tucker Carlson ( is he considered ''mainstream?'' I'm on the fence on that) video. He interviewed a Christian Pastor from Bethlehem. The theme was about the situation and treatment, of Christians in Gaza, the West Bank and Israel Proper, by our * greatest ally.* Suffice to say, it would be a very revealing interview for the general public, especially in the clueless ''west,'' to watch. Of course, the regular MSM would never offer us a glimpse into this point of view, for obvious reasons. '' Red flag on the play. ''

About 25 years ago I got into a heated argument with a good friend who was working temporarily in Israel. He said, "Rob, you wouldn't believe the way the Palestinians are being treated." (My friend is a devoted Christian). I screamed at him telling him that Israel is God's chosen people and they are doing what they are supposed to do. 25 years later and I've lost touch with my friend. I want to say I am sorry... I was wrong. It is evil for governments of *any* nation to murder people just because "someone might be a terrorist some day". I know this issue is much deeper than this, but just wantonly supporting a nation no matter what they do is wrong. We also keep forgetting there is a huge difference between the *people* of Israel and the *government* of Israel.

It takes guts to admit something like what you describe above, so hats arf to you, Rob D.

I believe ALL people are the "chosen" people... if we want to be. Seems to me you just did a pretty good job of doing that just now...

And since I have friends that are Christian and friends that are Jewish, I have NO problem differentiating between the People and the Govt. I mean, LOOK AT THE US! lol

But, bless your heart, my friend.

Rob D, most of my life (I'm older than you, lol) I always felt that Israel was our ally and I also equated, literally, the word ''Palestinian'' with ''Terrorist.'' At a certain point, maybe '05 or '06, I learned of the attack on the USS Liberty that happened on June 8, 1967. I wondered why I'd never heard of the Israeli attack on a US Naval vessel even though I was a teen at that time. I began to dig deeper. As they say, the rest is (revisionist) history. I'd recommend watching the video on Tucker's youtube. The Pastor has an interesting take on what it means to be ''chosen,'' among many other enlightening revelations. Even though I've long been aware of much of the content presented there, I found it captivating and educational.

I would consider Tucker Carlson mainstream, yeah, even though he has apparently fallen from grace... I question EVERYTHING, especially these days! Can you share the link to this interview, or maybe remember the name of the pastor? I'll check it out.

Sorry, WH, I can't find the link or remember the Pastor's name. It was on Tucker's youtube channel and should be pretty easy to find.... well worth a watch, imo.

Why were there no "emergencies" during the eclipse? I would venture to say that maybe, just maybe, while we were all (rightfully) preoccupied by the eclipse, something or maybe lots of somethings were occurring that may never be told to us until "they" deem it appropriate to do so. This is just speculation but I'm well aware that plenty does happen especially while we're distracted.

You know Rob D corporate media in My opinion is a bunch of " Hogwash". You're right about one thing Rob D they sure like to put the scare into the American people with garbage that really isn't frightening at all.

When the so called Covid pandemic came out and people started wearing diapers on their face I thought these people were "Nuts".

But I'm finding out now through socail media and other " idiot sights most American people are still " Nuts ". I'm sick and tired of people being scared of a bunch of nonsense that the media throws out there.

I did not know there was freaking out over the eclipse.

Haha. Yeah, you didn't miss anything. I think those warnings of emergency were mostly in areas where the eclipse was going to be visible. Thanks Rosemary!

interestingly, we did see the eclipse. 89% anyway

but there were some schools that closed at noon even as far as Richmond. I guess to view the eclipse but my daughter who lives in Richmond figured it might also be due to the high schoolers get out at 3:30 there. High schoolers driving any time is a circus
