Thanks for the shout out!

It's both my virtue and my failing to be concise. Thanks for filling in the details for me. :-)

I've never had any problem with my (filtered) tap water and I use pretty high quality salt, but I might get some sea salt and experiment with that. Purer is always better.

Random -- I harvested the seeds from my pepper plants this weekend. I'm looking for a bumper crop next season!

I use filtered tap water, too. No problems. Good luck with your pepper plants :).

Thanks Fat Rabbit Iron. I was not sure whether I should expound on your post or not as I didn't want to offend. Just wanted to have a bit of input. Tap water can be okay, but if there are any kind of bacteria or stuff in the water it can cause some horrific (and sometimes deadly) issues. The average person might not know this and not everyone owns the kind of filters necessary to remove all of the bad stuff from their water. It's rare, but for me, I err on the side of caution. I can't wait to hear how your peppers do next year. I collected a lot of lettuce, turnip, dill, bean and a few other seeds this year. Some things I didn't get to go to seed in time. :) Thanks for not being offended. I only wanted to compliment your post. :)

I'm not offended at all! It actually made my day.

Thanks Rob- I have used a neti pot, sparingly, for years. I have been sick with a nasty sinus infection for over a week, so switching to well-boiled water (also told by my naturopath this out-gasses the fluoride and chloramine) may help.

will also look into the distiller. I have been using pink salt, which I found to be explosion -mined and not-so eco/safe. I recently picked up some sea salt from costco reputed to be hyper clean and mineral rich. I am clearly exuding years of debris at this point.

Excellent Laurie. I hope you can heal your sinuses as well. Sinus infections are horrible and I feel your pain. I agree with your naturopath for sure. I can't remember what they are called right now, but there are little tiny tiny tiny tunnels in our sinuses and if something bad from our water gets in there it can make a bad situation much much worse. I also agree on the salt as well. I use and love pink salt... but only on my food. I hope you get over this as quickly as possible. Thank you for your input. :)

I know someone who uses a neti pot with distilled water (not sure if they even add anything else) if they feel that they're coming down with something. They claim it works and has prevented them from being sick.

I swear by them only because it worked for me. I'm not sure if everyone can benefit, but if someone battles sinus issues it's definitely worth a try and well worth the investment. (Especially if it works!). Thanks so much for stopping by again Anna. :)

Very timely, Rob D! I agree. We have to take our health into our own hands. Literally!

I have a been a neti pot fiend for years. In fact, I credit the neti pot with saving me from the toxic effects of wearing a mask. On the days I spent masked at work in 2020 and 2021, I'd get blood (sorry...gross, but true) when cleansing my sinuses. Since being banished from the VA for being unjabbed, no more toxic masks means no more bloody nose. Won't give up my neti pot, though :). That's a keeper. Masks, however, can burn.

Thanks for your input Pancake Princess! :) The masks are absolutely horrible. In my previous career I had to sometimes wear masks for long periods of time and they would cause me have blood in my snot (for lack of a better word) as well. I never masked for the plandemic and never will. They'll have to hold me down. I'm sorry you had to leave your VA job. As a veteran myself, it's a shame that so many of the good ones are gone now. I won't go to the VA for anything at this point. I'm terrified to do so.

I am actually still with the VA, just banned from seeing veterans in person. I now do chart reviews and video interviews for a clinical program. I'm an OT, which is super hands on, so it's a radical change. I previously specialized in amputee and neuro rehab. It is just not the same providing "care" through a screen, but I am hoping to have the ban lifted if sanity ever returns.

As much as I love veterans and working with them, I find the VA to be a very disappointing institution. You are well advised to stay away and keep tending to your health with your own wise head and two skilled hands :). My husband and I are at the point where we will never seek medical care unless it's for a broken bone or burst appendix!

And I love stopping by the Rumble Strip. It's a very welcome part of my week :).

I quit my job that was killing me, literally, 5 years ago. I grow my own lettuce. --- Sticking it to the man one little bit at a time. 😉

My job was killing me too. I loved it. I still love what I used to do, but I had to make a choice between going on prescription drugs for a bunch of issues, submitting myself to "testing" for "covid" and keep making good money or choose to make less money and get control of my health. I chose the latter. I still miss my old career and I definitely miss the money, but I am super healthy for the most part. Keep sticking it to the man any chance you get Bandit. And I will too. :)

I totally understand. I still miss my job and the money, of course, but I don't miss the place one little bit. They had me on 12 or 16 different drugs at one time. I felt like crap and I wasn't even 60 yet. I'm down to 4 prescriptions. 1 daily, 3 as needed. I rarely need them. 😊 --- Sticking it to the man is what makes me smile daily. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. 😉😋
