I kind of think it comes down to laziness. We live in such a "lazy" society. I think I may be part of the last generation of truly hard working, laboring people, who are not afraid of getting our hands dirty.

Sadly, today's generation want to sit in their homes, make videos and let the rest of the world "pave their way" to financial freedom. It burns me to the core that my grandkids want to be "nothing" when they are adults. In their minds, they won't ever need to work. Trust me nanny, they say. You don't know how it is anymore, they say. I'm an idiot, and they will live happily ever after doing nothing. Good luck with that I say in rebuttal. We will see.

I see this in the young people who purchased the home next to me. They never do *anything* around their property. All they do is party for the most part. When they talk to me they say, "you are always working." Um... yeah! My grandmother always used to say, "life is not a party"... she was right.

It pains me to say this Rob, but you may be wrong (your grandmother was right but not today). At least in the short run. Young folks today don't have to excel at anything to, well, live. They don't have to know how to cook food (never mind raising it), clean their homes (never mind building the home or the furniture), fix their property (because they don't own any), etc. They do however need to know how to download apps to "their" phone. And the phone is likely still owned by the service provider so even with that they really only need to be aware of how to operate the phone for the things that they want on it.

If for some reason they get to a place in life between funders (actual employers or government handout) they can simply turn to the thousands of non-profits that will gladly step in and support them until they can get "back on their feet" by which I mean back into a menial job (not a career path mind you) and/or back on government subsidies.

So, you see life truly can just be about partying and enjoying the fruits of labor of those who came before them and those who continue to subscribe to the accountability and responsibility way of life. The number of the latter is dwindling hence the mention of the "short run". One day supplies will either run out or AI will have taken over production thus eliminating the human element driving a full life. They will become pets to the system.

The book, Brave New World, seemed so futuristic just a few short years ago. Now it seems like the young, especially, can't push it into the present fast enough.

I have tried, and whether or not I have succeeded who knows, to be the best person that I am. I worked hard to not be a burden to others as I couldn't reconcile the thought that someone else would have to divert some of their energy and inspiration to support me rather than be the best them that they could be for themselves and for their family. Speaking of which, remember when families used to be the most important relationship you would have in life. I guess now, for the young at least, it is with Tik Tok or some other such waste of time that obsessively requires an individual to focus on only themselves and what others think of them.

Sad times we live in (from a societal perspective). As you seem to be, I also am quite happy and enjoy my life.

Some people will not give in to the AI form of living and those people will rediscover the joy of building, of growing, of family bonds. To have pride in ownership, pride in workmanship and pride in the human endeavor to survive evolution and thrive as a species. People have a unique place in the hierarchy of life on Earth. We can decide if we are to be complimentary to or detrimental to (all) life on Earth. Personally, I think we as a species should figure this out before we start thinking of a one world government or spreading to other celestial bodies.

Keep up the good work, Rob.

Agreed Brian. And my small biz has been providing support for a state medicaid plan over the last year. I could tell you stories that would curl your toes. Very aware of the entitlement class. I always was, but this has been a huge wakeup call. Thanks as always for stopping by! :)

I say it's TRAINING... But young 'uns, well, I was once like that, too. It's the older than teens and early 20's that better get crackin'. But who wants to go work in a cubicle? Our industry, our farms, our REAL work has pretty much gone bye bye... :(

We are TRAINED.

That person who said "good luck with that" is probably a PAID govt. troll.

The whole IDEA of all these govt. "services" was to make us dependent on govt, and then be able to CONTROL us. Just look where we are now! Of course, they've added sickness and poor health from being sold a lot of toxic "food," take us out of WORKING (physically) and run all the small farmers off their land, sit us in cubicles doing "service" on the phone or computer, drug us, dumb us down, de-educate us, addict us to technology that zaps us when we use it, and now, even if we don't, and suck up our wealth like they're the starving people we used to feed because we wanted to help-- now we go and kill them instead.

WHY? You may well ask. Because the people running this planet right now are out of control. They own about 90% of the wealth, they do NOTHING whatsoever and are bored shitless, and they are pampered, snot-nosed, over-grown children who are psychopaths, and are trained to hate us and try to euthanize us whenever they have a chance... ALL the wars are started by them, for them, to cull us down. ALL the ugliness, tyranny, and medical hell served up to us are by them, for them, to cull us down and/or to toy with and torture us.

Yeah, these are SICK MUFFOS. They are the Black Nobility, the Psycho Muffo Muckities Behind The Curtain, the Freaks that are trying to RULE THE WORLD and chip our brains and put us in 10-minute cities, IF we survive their eugenics.

Rant continues in my mind, picked up by my smart meter and then blasted back at me in the middle of the night via the 5G box on the telephone wire outside my house...

I SOUND LIKE A LUNATIC, AMIRITE? That's the idea.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrf.

Thanks for the opportunity to RANT... 🐕🐕🐕😁🤠😜🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕

BTW, I say FUCK THEM, let's party, and shut down their tyranny with loud rock music.

I agree with you. I live in the country, and when I bought this place 13 years ago, I figured I was far enough away from everything to stay "safe" from all the traffic, bumper to bumper people, businesses and constant sirens. Unfortunately, all I see is these once beautiful farms that feed us being bought up for "the right price", and apartment complexes and housing going up in its place. My once paradise is being threatened now and it makes me sick. The gorgeous mountains, home to bears, Bob cats, deer etc., are bull dozed to nothing for more houses. Guess next I'll have to go find a cave until they bulldoze that too.

So much for small town living amongst the farmers in the sticks AARRRRRGGGGG
